Sucky Shower

After many weeks of longing
I heard not a sexy whisper 
but a loud rumbling

nevertheless
it pleased and pleasured

it heralded the promise
of a delicious downpour
a sweet cooling rain
putting months of hellacious heat
to a rewarding rest

i prayed powerfully
in a pagan pursuit
for precipitation
not the heinous hinderance
of a haughty haboob

please Mr. Monsoon
may i be mollified
by your marvelous merry making meteorological mischief

i'm ruefully ruminating my ruined rain reward
for it was but a scathingly short seconds-long shower
