Mother
The pain you caused, the lies you smeared,
Took your life from the rest of your years.
I know now what I didn’t know then,
That you would become resentful because of your sins.
With a life of alcohol surrounded by men,
You’d choose them always before your children.
The things you’d do and say when your pissed,
Were never a good thing, you’d always dismiss.
Life is not easy that’s the least I can say,
But you dealt with it all wrongly until your last day.
You will never know the pain and misery you caused,
But you still have healing to do, and that I’m sure.
I forgive you mum, I too need to heal,
I’ll move on without you, it’s best I feel.
