Vidalia (collab with Adelphina )
I Love You
Like roses bleed the color red
Blooming velvet petals of flesh
Gifting bouquets of life
Consummating consonants
as we vocalize the vowels
Words held our hands
until our hands held us
in physical sentences
Like the sky breezes into the blue
Creating fingers of soft air
Tracing your silhouette
Leading to night, candlelight
exposing skin above shadow
Like day once brightened us
now we lay heightened
Like the sun kisses skin into gold
With patient warm lips
Tinting flavors of you
Mouths tripping over tongues
Forgiving cigarette breath
and Spanish onions
for the sake of instant rapture
because tonight is now
and not tomorrow
Like parched soil wishes for
Spring rainbows
Brightening your soul
Like love, the storm before
that makes the dell turn lush
Like the blush, as our faces grace
the warmth of the other
Like tides sing to the moon
In harmony with midnight
Serenading you to sleep
'Til the beckoning of awake
early, for time is winding
our bodies into currents
joining, the luxury of our limbs
as our kisses reach for shared breath
~
I wrote this for you
But life is hard
Decided to keep it for myself
And yet here we are
words settled down
on the night table
as we serenade with sounds
our previous dreams.
