Pink often is used to describe a blush, or embarrassment, shame, etc. The fact that you had a blank space in the Box Head's core while hued in pink could emphasize feelings of inadequacy, and an inability to express that due to the nature of where you are.

Box Head is literally trapped. There is a cavern, a white space, a nothing to either side of the character, leaving him trapped -- further articulating the frustration of not being able to move.

Could be a representation of repressed emotions, or an inner fear that this is as good as it gets.

But ironically do you know how a painter chooses colors or at least this painter ?
I sit there and study the many choices and then start. And layering and mixing.  So for me it's just what colors flow together or juxtapose each other.  I've been told my use of color is often dynamic.  That's a happy meal for me ...

I LOVE the pink. My first thoughts were similar to Betty's. I saw the pink as romantic angst. Box Head is a patron saint of emotion and hope. He's neurotic and impassioned. Sexy isn't the first word that comes to mind for me, but why not?

Awesome art that's both whimsical and complex. Great design and use of color.

Box Head has become kind of an obsession for me.  I am trying to not to overdue drawing them but people really seem to like them so I keep going.

You know some people here really like the Box Head concept and others give me a hard time.  They want real color and form abstraction.  I go through phases. Try to give everyone something for nothing.
