Hero Syndrome
you think it's easy for me
you've watched me bleed too many times
incarcerating me
you don't know the prison of my mind
you don't know the pain that I have
you think you're saving me
don't use blood ties you're constricting me
love is not a vice
no medication for these ulcers
I'm running out of time
don't try to placate me
just end my suffering
I'm holding on for dear life
stop subjugating me
I'm ready to fall on the knife
this venom in my veins
is mine now to embrace
take cover before I open my eyes
you watch me as I fall
I'll escape your net this time
you've watched me bleed too many times
incarcerating me
you don't know the prison of my mind
you don't know the pain that I have
you think you're saving me
don't use blood ties you're constricting me
love is not a vice
no medication for these ulcers
I'm running out of time
don't try to placate me
just end my suffering
I'm holding on for dear life
stop subjugating me
I'm ready to fall on the knife
this venom in my veins
is mine now to embrace
take cover before I open my eyes
you watch me as I fall
I'll escape your net this time
