Power
I want the Sun,
drum-beating,
throbbing on a salt water sky,
I want sand,
I want skin and the arc armed spine
lifting up to stretch from relaxation or test,
I want bare nails, bare kisses,
the unapologetic liquor in a clipped on tin,
rucksacks, nudity,
child-free quietness,
rest in the organs of me,
I want bodies
moved to immovability,
touched by tomorrow
and yesterday and today.
I want expansion,
to eat the cherries off your tongue,
to tie knots in all your wisdom,
smoke, dusk, wilderness -
to linger where it lies
knowing confidence,
our safety
is wrapped in mutual design,
I want to weave something powerful
deep into the earth,
to read as you watch,
breath stiff, curled,
I want to wear my hair like birches do
and when you wrap in all your fingers
to know no harm is intended,
no dominance lives here,
you're just lost within a void,
reconnecting with the seas.
