Words of Kindness
I saw in you great potential
as a writer, evidential
too was the way you shared
thoughts with your daughter, you so cared.
I read the comments we exchanged
about most of the pieces ranged.
Yours to me were filled with kindness,
no discordance, and thankfulness.

Words of kindness and gifts of praise
Heal us when we lose our way.
I touch her hand and smooth her brow
Hearing her say, “We’re all made from clay.”
The words she wrote were filled with love when
She knew her presence would hurt too much.
To the end of life she was given to love
Celebrating the taste of human touch.
Within this hour her flesh will burn
With words and songs upon her breasts.
I’m thankful for the life she gave
In knowing her our lives are blessed.

Author's Note
Several pages of quotes will be carried with mother during her viewing and cremation. I think she would approve.

I am indeed honoured to know this. I have further thoughts (don't know if others have said same) informed by my own loss of my father when I was 40 and he a young 70.;
Do not mourn for what she did not get to achieve.
Rejoice for what she has achieved.
Do not mourn for what she did not get to see of your life
Rejoice for what she lived to see in you.
Do not mourn she departed when still physically active and in good intellect
Rejoice she did not face senility and physical wasting.
Do not mourn for what you may see as talent wasted
Rejoice that that talent continues to live through you.
Do not mourn she passed still in youthful beauty
Rejoice she was spared the ravages of age and older ill health
Do not mourn for the agonies and anguish she faced
Rejoice that she is now at peace.
Do not mourn for any sense of failure on your part
Rejoice in the ways you are a credit to her and would make her smile
Do not mourn the differences you may have had
Rejoice in the similarities to her others compliment you for.
