Nebula
in the stillness of the morning
I search for you, seeking
a sign, a whisper, a touch
upon my spirit, anything
that betrays your presence;
are you here with me now,
or have you gone beyond -
to become the nebula,
or perhaps a star?
have you found the peace
you were looking for?
I write to you at every sunrise,
hoping
you’re looking over my shoulder,
hoping
you read all the words
I couldn’t say to you
when your love was still
a tangible thing
I search for you, seeking
a sign, a whisper, a touch
upon my spirit, anything
that betrays your presence;
are you here with me now,
or have you gone beyond -
to become the nebula,
or perhaps a star?
have you found the peace
you were looking for?
I write to you at every sunrise,
hoping
you’re looking over my shoulder,
hoping
you read all the words
I couldn’t say to you
when your love was still
a tangible thing

The departed are closer than we think. I had an urge to phone my mother one day, then realised it would have been her 100th birthday (she had died a few years previously in her 90s).

I find I have so much left to say, and so many new things to tell her, so I’ve started writing letters. I like to think my thoughts reach her, wherever her soul rests.

I feel like it's Christmas or my birthday with all the phenomenal poems that NaPo has already spurred. You lot are so freaking talented, I wish you'd post poems daily all the time because I'm a kid in a candy store right now! ... hahaha.( I know I know!!)
I am so immensely thankful to have the good fortune to experience these wonderful poems, which every participant's hard work has birthed into being. With that being said, I shouldn't be surprised at the sheer impact of this, your first NaPo offering. Yet I am, when discovering how overwhelmed I feel at the deep affects your pen produced. I'm utterly riddled in goosebumps and left feeling like you were speaking directly to me, which is a rare and enormously profound talent to possess- well done, you!
This beauty softly resonates.... in an wholly epic way.
Thank you for putting it out there.
Bravo!
(Good luck with NaPo in all the days ahead!)

A beautiful and soulful start to NaPo. I like to think those I’ve loved can hear me when I whisper into the wind. I’d like to think your mama hears you ❤️

Wow. This tugs at the heart, sending those letters, those words across the great distances to reach that loved one.
Beautiful work Luna and great first entry for this year's NaPo.
