The Long Sleep

Will glory be there, 
for me to go 
when life is done 
and over here 
will my sleep be deep 
will my dreams be long 
within its eternal embrace 
will lovers spurned 
haunt me still 
for broken promises made 
be it that or be it not 
the time is near 
when I must say goodnight 
to this life’s light.
