by the bean (a history lesson.. sort of)
starting Sunday
morning at
the coffee
shop
enjoying a cafe
Vienna
(shots of expresso
with whipped cream
on top)
made me think of
old Salieri
sitting in the cafe's
of Vienna in the
1700's
at that time a cup of
coffee would have to
be ordered by
the bean
with whipped cream
on top
( the wealthier you were
the better cup of coffee
you could afford)
and seeing that Antonio
was court composer to
Emperor Joseph
I guess he could afford
a pretty damn good cup
of coffee
sometimes Mozart would
join him at the cafe
I bet Wolfie stuck Salieri
with the bill more than
a few times...
considering the
circumstances
Mozart had to give private
piano lessons to just keep
up with the rent sometimes
while Salieri had the
Emperor's ear ( not
to mention his pocket
book)
just goes to show you
that talent doesn't
always win out in the
moment
sometimes it may
take centuries
it has to simmer a while
much like the coffee
that Mozart and Salieri
would share...by
the bean
