Beginning
I come from a time
When all was dark
The sun up above
Wasn't even a spark
There was those that saw
What couldn't be seen
They possessed an understanding
Of that with no means
They stood on the edge
And took delight
In existence struggle
And evolution's fight
Truth was in it's infancy
A little more than a babe
Hope non existent
Dreams and imagination depraved
They took their time toying with minds
Holding them in the dark
But always looking for a sign
A sign of warmth, maybe a spark
A mind that would give hope
It's very first heart
They must constantly probe
So that it never starts
Here in the dark
Supposedly a cold and lonely place
To the knowing there's much to the dark
A bending of time into space, can get you any place
But they knew not what was hidden
The warmth the glow
Has now been bidden
So now we know
The warmth soon becomes a spark
The knowing retreat into the dark
We bound together giving hope a heart
With hope our sun is destine to start
When all was dark
The sun up above
Wasn't even a spark
There was those that saw
What couldn't be seen
They possessed an understanding
Of that with no means
They stood on the edge
And took delight
In existence struggle
And evolution's fight
Truth was in it's infancy
A little more than a babe
Hope non existent
Dreams and imagination depraved
They took their time toying with minds
Holding them in the dark
But always looking for a sign
A sign of warmth, maybe a spark
A mind that would give hope
It's very first heart
They must constantly probe
So that it never starts
Here in the dark
Supposedly a cold and lonely place
To the knowing there's much to the dark
