love is not so easy to kill

Anger seeps,
creeping,
displacing space,
once occupied by a heart.
Slowly,
a cancer grows,
this white hot flame,
a forest fire of destruction,
leaving in the aftermath,
numb serenity,
darkness,
and
unending sadness.
Avoiding each other's eyes,
ashamed
of hurtful words spoken,
wishing them all unsaid,
and then you touch my hand.
A new beginning,
and a blessing,
turning pain
into summer rains,
watching as flowers unfold,
seeing the world grow.
Together,
we walk within the storm,
washing tears away,
leaving spirits,
.... whole.
Holding hands,
we look and see a miracle,
love is not so easy to kill
