The difference is that in Pakistan, floods and earthquakes happen all the time. They are in a very difficult tectonic area: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan.
On this side of the Atlantic, we also get storms. This one is a bit out of the ususal. Hurricanes occur in the US Midwest as a habit. Different geographic zones, different hits.

Actually india, Haiti, Chile, Japan and other places get the most floods and earthquakes, this is the first time i heard of flooding in pakistan.

In simple terms it’s pretty scary. What’s even scarier is that many politicians (here in the US) and people deny climate change.
