Noah's Ark
Isn't it funny that we worry more about Mars and what's among the stars
Than we do about each other and what's in our oceans which aren't that far
Billions spent on the invention of powerful telescopes to look into outer space
Building satellite after satellite, along with a spacestation to head the race
We know nothing of each other, hell we barely notice each other's face
We consider times getting to know each other as time that we've wasted
Parents don't know their children, children don't know that their parents worry too
Neighbors live next to each other for years and never have a clue
Why is that person sleeping on the sidewalk, why are they begging for money
How can some of us see these people and think that they are funny
People are living amongst the trash, while others live in their cars
Yet we seek a different existence somewheres amongst the stars
We claim a knowledge of the many suns and their various planets
Instead of studying the earth's oceans, we subject them to man's damage
There could be so much more that the oceans could offer us
More than enough food to end all hunger, ending those looks of disgust
The cure to diseases that we declared lost causes, we thought incurable
There may be a source of fuel undiscovered and totally renewable
With vessels exploring the ocean's floors encountering lobsters as large as tanks
For years upon years they've fed upon dead whales and sharks, and whatever sank
Do they hold the key to dementia, could they stop the aging process
Why are they more focused on finding another earth is anyone's guess
Why look for another planet to destroy instead of fixing the one that you have
There surely wont be another Noah's Ark with some leaving and some staying, that's a laugh
Than we do about each other and what's in our oceans which aren't that far
