Image for the poem lusted

lusted

taste the sin in wickedness
divine truth from lies
in your hope dine on faith

discern this metaphor
in shadows dwell a toothy grin
eating at your resolve
beating in the stony doors
arousing your nightmares
is she woman or is she madness

at night restless in your pursuit
lay down your weapons and rest
I will give you succor upon my breast

lingers the kiss
I will put you at ease
in darkness greed tarry not
wanton need is there waiting to devour

I understand desire
here is wisdom separate fact from fiction
carnality at its best
has turned your head
bested you at midnight

give up your hate in secrets doom
and see her no more
