Sweet Decay
my bud has bloomed
my flower has blossomed
into something
rather quite solemn.
'neath the soil
creates much turmoil
a breed of weeds
with desperate needs.
they bend to lend
and grow from woe
to die for life
to die for foe.
this covers their tracks
and covers their home
but 'neath it all
they're their own hoe.
my stem is wrapped
my leaves are torn
piece by piece
i feel so worn.
my petals fall
to sing a song
'all in all
i'll never belong.'
eating the truth
in exempt dismay
i come to find out
i'm just a sweet decay.
my flower has blossomed
into something
rather quite solemn.
'neath the soil
creates much turmoil
a breed of weeds
with desperate needs.
they bend to lend
and grow from woe
to die for life
to die for foe.
this covers their tracks
and covers their home
but 'neath it all
they're their own hoe.
my stem is wrapped
my leaves are torn
piece by piece
i feel so worn.
my petals fall
to sing a song
'all in all
i'll never belong.'
eating the truth
in exempt dismay
i come to find out
i'm just a sweet decay.
