I’ve always loved every picture of you
Especially when you’d flash those big eyes
You are such a remarkable character
You usually give us quite a surprise

I always enjoy watching old home videos
When you’d walk in like you owned the room
Or like that time when you’re barely four
Explaining how the fireworks go boom!

I always laugh reading some of the old posts
The discussions we had - just between us
How many times I told you “Don’t tell monkey”
But then I found myself under the bus

Your humor, your sarcasm, your clever disposition
The times you got in trouble for your dark wit
Your loving nature, your magnetic personality
Sometimes I’m in awe of you I must admit

Sometimes when I hug you I hold on a little long
Nostalgically remembering that little guy
Now you’re seventeen, where did the time go?
But in my heart you’re still my Xander pie
