Postered Love
Left over tears from yesterday
While staring into the sunset watching you walk away
Ask a broken heart what's the fastest thing in this universe
It will tell you true love going fast forward and then slammed into reverse
Barely seen glimpses of emotions seem to streak by
Every infraction remembered, compounded by every lie
There is no reverse on this meteor ride
It doesn't take long before we regret deciding to confide
But this is a crash, one that was destined to happen
Each word, each syllable is like the universe slapping
Is the fast thing in the universe, pain moving into a heart
Or is it love moving out once deceit is caught
Two hearts spinning out of control on an emotional merry go round
No longer thanking the universe that another heart was found
Revolving at this speed we can't find this rides exits
So we clung to each other pretending that real love truly existed
But two hearts rubbing in pain like this, with enough friction to start the big bang
Words and emotions fly out and about like cosmic winds
Before you know it between these two hearts is a continental divide
There is no bridging, to much pain and spacing to let it slide
We decide that what we had was simply space debris
That there was never truly a you and me
Only a ragged poster of each other walking off into the sunset
And the pain of two hearts that never truly met
While staring into the sunset watching you walk away
Ask a broken heart what's the fastest thing in this universe
It will tell you true love going fast forward and then slammed into reverse
Barely seen glimpses of emotions seem to streak by
Every infraction remembered, compounded by every lie
There is no reverse on this meteor ride
