Further

Who knows when the boat will sail
and whether we’ll be on it
or watching from the shore?
The train will leave on time
but will it stop
at the station we are standing?
And the plane, ah - the plane,
after many checks and tests finally takes off -
are we looking down
or staring up at a disappearing line?

Be we spectator or participant
the future solves itself
as the mouse scurries and the bull charges.

But sometimes, just sometimes,
a mountain bends down, scoops you up,
places you lovingly on top for a moment’s vision …
and it carries you further than you ever could imagine.
