Thrill Pill
is it human nature
violence toward those we love
why do i gain pleasure
by dominating
controlling
inflicting
demanding
it’s the challenge
worthy opponent
betting
you can’t do it
then daring
go faster
go farther
go deeper
go harder
we’ve ingested the red pill
like it dark never vanille
she submits
of her own free will
she squirms
and squiggles and can’t hold still
she gasps
for breath as if running uphill
(or going nowhere on a treadmill)
she acts silly
like a girl on Benny Hill
when she obeys
i get a thrill
when she cries and begs
i get a chill
she’s the parchment
i’m the quill
in the end
our spirits refill
