God's Workmen
I am not a religious person
Nor do I claim to be a Christian
But I believe the world is run
On spiritual principles and therefore
By choice I am a spiritual individual
It's my belief that we were put on this Earth
To not only love each other but to
Help each other when we are able and
Therefore, that makes us God's Workmen
Ever ready to serve our fellow man
One might ask if that means
We're supposed to help everybody
But we know that would be impossible
I always help those who want my help
Whenever I am physically able to do it
That is the only decision I have to make
Not once have I ever stopped to consider
Whether the person deserves my help or not
To do that I would have to judge that person
Which I have absolutely no right to do.

Feeling spiritual this morning. What can I say? I assure you these are my beliefs and mine a lone. I do not now or would I ever, insist that you believe them, too! I don't have the right to do such a thing anyway. Be blessed all you beautiful people!

We've helped many people get on their feet. I've had friends and family
move in till they were strong enough to be on their own.
How can I not:)
We do what we can. I consider myself spiritual as well. Grew up Catholic but
I didn't like all of the rules. I honestly don't think there is a wrong religion.
You practice what feeds your soul and empowers you.
As long as you're not hurting anyone - practice what you like:)

Hi there, Aldelphina! Thank you so much for your lovely comments and putting my poem on your reading list. I was brought up a Catholic, too but had trouble with the rituals. It's so nice that you have been able to help others so much! I think it's great. I actually feel helping others is part of my soul's work just as writing is.

I think we all judge people to a certain extent, whether or not we admit to being conscious of it because how else would we smell a 'wrong un' lol? I would like to think we have a built-in defence mechanism when it comes to being taken for a ride (mug) or not. ;-)
You maybe right. We're supposed to love each. Nowhere is it written we must trust them. I try never to judge anyone but sometimes I just have to put those I have through pure common sense into the "lost souls" category and keep my distance from them. Am so making sense to you regarding this? I would love it you told me more.

I like being Jewish and if I had to pick one it would be the one I already have. My religion when I was observing taught me to help others in need if I could. I try to do that. My mom had a very simple expression that I use as a code to live by. Simply
"Do the best you can" You appear to be doing just that.

I love your Mom's words! That's really all we can do. Thanks for sharing that. Thanks too for your generous remarks. I have never regretted any type of kindness I was able to bestow on the people I have helped. It's nice to be thanked for it but I honestly feel helping others is part of my soul's work and God knows I have received my share of help over the years. What people don't realize is that the help they are rendering may be God's answer to someones prayers. That is exactly what I think of and I'm grateful when I get a chance to do that.
