TWO BOYS AND A DOG!
“Two boys and a dog!”
“What?” He ask again
“Two boys and a dog,” She repeats. Firmly! “That’s what I bring to the table!”
He studies her for a silent minute, so she gets up to leave. “Surely, he cannot handle this…”
“So?!” He interrupts her thoughts, “I mean, let me halla at you for a moment ma!” He takes her hand, and gently leads her back to sit.
“Two boys and a dog,huh?”
“See,I know you and ‘em babies have been let down one too many times before, and on behalf of my people, I apologize.”
She rolls her eyes impatiently, accompanied with a laugh…
“Nah!” He silences her cynicism with a kiss. “Don’t interrupt me boo!”
“I know you got the strength, the brain and the dough to raise your boys good with no brother around,”
“But I’m a man skilled enough to love you, strong woman! Ready to teach (y)our sons who a man and a father is. Well, and the dog too!”
“That!” he wipes her tears and hold her in a tight embrace. “That is what I bring to the table.”
“Two boys and a dog, you say,”
“What I see, though,” he reaffirms her, “is a whole lot of fam you be giving me.”
And so the story goes on and on and on: Today marks their tenth anniversary…
