Image for the poem Lean on me

Lean on me

Pardon
those chaotically scrambled panic attacks, with signed papers from
your mind’s warden

Permit
obligations and after time-served, face those doubts which incarcerated you

Lean
on me because I will never abandon you, I will be waiting for you upon your release

be confused;
question yourself;
scream;
cry;
laugh;

Walk to the edge, I will support you

curl up in a ball;
think;
hide;
get away;
stay;

Be alone, or cling to me

run;
walk;
sleep;
define;
learn;

Say very little, or talk it out

The weight of your fears, and the pressure of your worries can lead you to self pity, know how that feels,
but
I will not let you stay there for long

Adhere
to the parole from your inner strength and once you are able to fly again, I will still be here, always here, your branch, your secure place
