A Tree That Grew
A Tree That Grew
Today a seed is planted.
It sprouts a tree
with such a beautiful trunk to show
and soon with leaves even more so.
You may think this tree is free,
but it has no place to go.
Its beauty is reflected in a pond,
but still it has no eyes for itself to see.
Does it smell the summer breeze?
Can it feel at all,
emotional happiness or pain?
Does it feel the rain as it begins to fall?
It has no hands and nothing for it to touch.
Can it hear sound,
those who talk as they pass by?
To us, it can't seem...

Beach Day
Beach Day
In winter,
we play and get dirty outside after school.
In the summer,
these hot days spent swimming
and splashing in the hotel pool.
Some kids are nerdy, others are cool.
A trip to the beach,
so many ways to have fun.
Some of us are tan,
lathered in tanning lotion.
Summertime, spent soaking in the sun.
Some of us are pale.
To stay inside, we prefer to choose.
We play checkers and chess,
some win and some lose.
A ship sets sail, put in motion.
Propelled by the sea breeze.
A crashing wave. ...

Consistency
Consistency
Time.
Second by second,
continuously passing by.
Each second we enjoy,
though some we may not like.
A slab of untouched wood
is a woodworker's dream,
to make whatever it is that he could.
A cup of tea
with the right amount of cream,
to me it tastes so good.
Consistent, it certainly is.
Consistently it always was.
A bee works so hard.
It passes by as I listen to it buzz.
The beat of your heart at rest.
Continuously thumping in your chest.
A tree grows,
always reaching for the sky. ...
Time.
Second by second,

Snowland
Snowland
Today is almost over.
Tonight the moon did glow.
Between early morning
and midafternoon,
tomorrow, sometime soon
it will snow.
Darkness passes by,
now all but a few are still asleep.
Outside,
not a sound.
Not a peep.
A soft blanket of white
lay upon the ground.
Snowflakes are falling,
so intricately designed.
Winter is calling.
For some,
it's time to relax and unwind.
Those who sit by the fire and read a book.
Sleds and snowballs,
children play.
So much beauty all...

Life
Life is happiness.
Life is love.
Delicate though it may be.
It is but a flake of snow
falling from above.
Life sings a song.
Notes of musical melodies.
Life is short,
it doesn't last very long.
Life is but a minute of an hour of a day.
Life is made of you and me.
It's full of joy.
Life is free.
It is special in every way.
Life is but a tree
growing from the ground.
It's far more precious than a gem.
Life is the greatest thing ever found.
It is not a toy.
Like I've said before, ...

Colors
Colors,
bright and dim.
Colors that are bold.
Colors fade.
So many colors to behold.
Different colors made
by mixing different hues.
Reds, greens, yellows, and blues.
Color is in the food that we cook,
it is color that we consume.
Sunlight is made of color
we cannot see.
White, tan, and brown.
There is color in you and me.

Sound
Sounds that are near.
Those far away from here
are sounds that we may not hear.
Music is made of sound,
the relaxing effect it has.
A variety of genres, my favorite is jazz.

whisper softly with a wheeze.
The sound that a baby makes
