Well sod to sadness
said with a grin,
such is the vigour
and boldness
I feel
always after a cold-addled fugue.
Enough boldness
to smile at the weird world
because there is still joy
to be found
in this mess.
Despite the lamentations
of the media
churning storms in coffee cups.
As if despair is a la mode
and swearing is an acceptable answer,
I always did buck the trend;
today I couldn't give a damn.

I like the title you chose, especially the full stop. It fits with the not melancholic tone, exactly, but rather wistful and welcoming one that seems to define this sweet, smart poem.
