Just a little something I wrote.
Trying to get in touch with my darker side.
Working on another piece called Currents of Glass - it's about murder!!! I hear in in my head like a song.

Yes - the wind has its own magical properties in its DNA that
taps into our DNA - like a warning device. Love being wrapped in
it honestly. Even the sound too.

I could really feel the caress as I made my way along the cracked sidewalks.
That cold breath on my neck.
Not afraid but maybe I should be...
I suppose I just loved finding this caress in darkness.

So glad you enjoyed this. I heard that phrase in my mind and wrote this in a few minutes. There have been a few times I've been out and about alone in the dark. With the wind howling and no light around at all. I think it heightens your awareness in a way. Felt that pull leading me to safety. Wild to think about it now.

I know the feeling you write of here quite well... when I was a teenager, I used to go for walks a lot when I was upset, and it would always calm me down. I'd sometimes walk up through town, sometimes through the park, a couple of times through the cemetery (when I was really, really upset and probably not thinking clearly). But always, there would be these certain moments in certain places, on certain days when something would just tell me "Don't go there!" and I would always listen. One night, my mother and I went for a walk, and I tried to warn her not to have us go up a street ironically named Pleasant Street in town. It always had a bad reputation! But on that night, I had a truly horrible feeling. We ended up being chased by a local street gang that my grandfather ended up frightening away, and once we were home for the night, I said to my mother in a very I told you so kind of way, that she needed to listen to me when I got these sorts of gut feelings because it was always a sign that we needed to be careful and not throw caution to the wind. Your poem here definitely reminds me of that, and of all those far less tangible sorts of menaces that one can encounter here and there if one is heedless of them. Well written, and just creepy enough to convey the point without going over the top! Beautiful work all the way around. :)

Yes - those feelings are like inner warning alarms. We should always listen. For me the air feels heavier even. I do believe in karma - how it can hang around in the air of bad intentions. Your poor mom had an eye opener I'm sure. Thank god she wasn't alone and had you with her. I can see your grandfather frightening them away. I'm sure he was scared as well but when it comes to family - we go into autopilot mode. LOL

Sometimes we get confused by intuition verses deep curiosity.  And more often than not, there isn't a way to weigh rights and wrongs, yes and no's, or stop and go's.
 We see glimmers of what if. And that can be a really strong magnet.  
It's the right choice, to answer a what if, once in awhle.  It's what makes us full of life.
By experiencing it.

Intuition vs curiosity. I can see how it can give you a great
adrenaline rush. I've never been curios about anything
that I feel would harm me. But I have been hit with curiosity
if I'm getting the vibe of excitement and not danger. For me
there is a difference.

And I agree with answering what if's.
You are spot on with that.
