Truth

 "Truth"

She comes without warning
Her mind been made
She looks at me cooly
Holding my gaze
The weight of it all
Has me awfully afraid
My head, my haven
She begins to invade

Her all-knowing eyes
Pierce through my soul
She removes her disguise
The room around me grows cold
She forces out the lies
That for too long I've been told
I've dealt with the devil
My soul has been sold

She's tired of the mind games
Goodbye blissful youth
She has many names
But most know her as Truth

Innocence was bliss
But she's made it too clear
I've been hiding from her: Truth
She's all I ever feared
She's big and she's heavy
Alot to take in
But I sigh despite it all
And shoulder her burden

She drags me to an all time low
I feel naked and exposed
But I'm not afraid of Truth or lies
So I stare right back at her, eye to eye

She smiles at me slowly
Because I've decided to improve
She has many names
But I know her as Truth

Author's Note
This is the first poem I ever wrote. I was forced to come to terms with something that I had been avoiding for a long time. I was forced to face truth and to look her in the eye.
