My Queen

I need to love you just as much as I love the skin that you are in
Kiss your skin as if I were the one who blessed you with the melanin that resides within it
Be purified by the words that escapes from your mouth whenever you say my name
Comfort the tears that are released from your heart and cater to the mind that is comfortably sitting behind your eyes
I guess what I am trying to say is that I need to love you from a molecular level
I want to embrace every part of you
Examine the woman that you are and excel in all of your teachings
Understand the lessons that you offer and learn to respect the woman that you are becoming
Maybe if I do this I will become the man that I am needing to be
I will be humbled in more ways then one
Learn that there are far more pieces to this puzzle and you are the one who possess them
And although it may seem as if I am doubting my ability to make you happy
If I push myself far beyond my expectations I am sure I will be able to remove that thought process of you thinking that you are a queen
And replace that thought with knowing that you are in fact really one
I desire to wake up knowing how blessed I am
Know how much of a blessing it is to stand by your side
Feel that fluttering within the pit of my stomach every time we make love
Anchor down onto that foundation to prevent myself for thinking that there is another woman out there that is greater than you
And although I am sounding as if I am attempting to be a slave
My goal is to stop assuming that I know your heart before learning it
To stop hearing and actually start listening
To complete this transition of you being just my “girl” but my wife
My queen
For there is no way a King can build an empire with a girl who is not yet ready to be a woman
And there is no way a woman can be considered a “girl” when she has already established herself as a queen
