Saying the very least
he’s a curious,
yet an inglorious beast.
Today, too early
our doorstep darkens
Topped by camo,
MAGA ball cap
sporting NRA polo
Predictable, comical ensemble
Thank goodness
I was taking a nap
Or, try as I might,
I could not
have stifled a laugh
A partial motive
for his ridiculous attire
To thumb his nose
at his California kin
Believing that by nature
and location of birth
I’m ultra liberal
Innately prone to sin
While my informed
estimation of him
A good ol’ boy Trump sycophant
Hell bent on making America
anything but great again
Professing to be Christian
While hating like the devil
Naively believing
God will judge him on the level

Oh, yes! How many times I’ve bitten my tongue for the sake of blood relations. Love your light-hearted write on the struggle. Sometimes it’s best to just quietly have an internal chuckle & just call a person eccentric than take on the fight they want. Love the write. ☺️

This was a helluva powerful piece of writing! I'm sure there are soooo many families out there torn apart by the severity of divisiveness, mostly due to a giant orange lying liar.... It's still so rampant and truly awful. The lasting impact that remains, is just remarkable. I try to see the hope that could be possible, yet it's incredibly difficult these days. This piece is bold, honest and a reminder to everyone out there that we all have more in common than we might think.

Dearest Lady Blue, I miss you too. I am so impressed by your erudite commentary on the sorry state of things as left by that pathetic orange freak. One bright spot in my current marital situation is not having to see my FIL anymore.
