Love poem
My lover;
Great heart;
Worthy;
Ah!
But how I adore you:
Your eyes like adamant in the sun;
Your smile innocent as a newborn,
Dangerous as wild fire;
Your confidence as solid as the night,
Your hopes as numerous as
The lanterns of the starry sky;
You do not seek,
In strength, to rival men;
You do not seek,
In splendour, to outmatch women;
Beautiful lover,
Dawn of my joy,
Your contentedness
Is to me a blessedness;
Your eyes,
Like adamant in the sun,
Dancing in the hope and thrill
Of all that is to come.
Great heart;
Worthy;
Ah!
But how I adore you:
Your eyes like adamant in the sun;
Your smile innocent as a newborn,
Dangerous as wild fire;
Your confidence as solid as the night,
Your hopes as numerous as
The lanterns of the starry sky;
You do not seek,
In strength, to rival men;
You do not seek,
In splendour, to outmatch women;
Beautiful lover,
Dawn of my joy,
Your contentedness
Is to me a blessedness;
Your eyes,
Like adamant in the sun,
Dancing in the hope and thrill
Of all that is to come.
