Our finite timelines are likening to train tracks    
stretching from onset to finality –    
only to board another train    
be it a spiritual destination    
or a chance to start anew    
   
I’ve made many (too many, maybe)    
an unscheduled stop    
distracted by the ado of bright lights    
flim-flam artisans shouting    
from their mobile homes,    
street corners, as well    
   
Some stops were brief    
others felt like an extended binge    
yet others, due to my hopping    
on the wrong train    
or the one going in the opposite    
direction delayed my arrival…..    
   
I could piggy-back on a different train    
stay in the caboose staring into the past    
perhaps, I can hitch a ride, stay with the Engineer    
focusing on what’s coming ahead    
   
For now,    
I’ll settle a run-on sentence connecting    
all the dots and stops and destinations,    
   
enjoying the landscapes and ride
