Days without jewellery
plain, unadorned,
lacking sparkle
and magic
un-fated attempts
at doing.
When I do,
I wear an Ankh.
To be reborn
each day,
auraed in destiny
as the Pharaohs were,
vitality infused
potent potentiality
animated and energised.
Gold,
Bold Fortune,
radiate bright like skin.
Silver,
Steady Reliability,
foundations like bones.
Steel chain,
Impervious and Resolute,
armoured and ready.

I love jewellery with meaning, even if seldom worn. I’ve worn the same chain for many, many years. Always silver. It becomes a part of us in our own special way.

I suppose any item or jewellery can becomes akin to a horcrux or relic of us that outlasts us and is imbued with a sense of us. At least the shinies have inherent value compared to modern 'perishables' of plastic.
