A Reason to Love
I can’t help but feel spellbound
Going through a timewarp of lust and blame
Sitting at the edge of the vortex
Listening to Beth’s voice
That old siren song
Remembering reasons that justified my means
And I mean
Mine alone
But I was young man
I still had many years of heartache and confusion ahead
Decades of hard lessons to learn
Because eventually I would find my purpose
Understanding of myself just a little better
Even thought it was not exactly what I had planned or prepared for…
But as I listen and look back
This slow groove takes me there
The melody puts me in that old trance
“Damn it, I should’ve…”
But that’s alright, it needed to be that way
So I that I would find those reasons
