Forefront of our minds (NaPoWriMo 2022 #1)
Upon a blank canvas
pixel by pixel
a magnum opus is birthed,
by composers
who may never meet
yet, are united by a single piece
echoing the contemporary
that favours the underdog
within the current blight of war,
and although jostle for place
upon the canvas
the show of unity is unchallenged;
for its inclusion is sacrosanct
and shows that even trying times
goodness yet lives within enough hearts.

Entry 1 for NaPoWriMo 2022. Inspired by the 'place' subreddit on Reddit for April Fools 2022; a collaborative piece done pixel by pixel, where Ukraine's flag has unrivalled space that stretches from side to side on the canvas.

This is one of the strongest NaPo entries I've seen sprint out of the gate yet, Viddax. Your subject is a very noteworthy one and the imagery is indeed captivating even if one has not seen the image in person.

I thought you wrote 'strangest'! I should have captured the image to properly display it. Guess this is my contemporary 'news-today' piece, as often I don't write about such things!

I've only now got time to go back and read April's offering properly, and this was a stunning start. It captures the unity of everyone supporting Ukraine, and the Reddit piece, and also the minds coming together for NaPo. Lovely.

It was heartening to see the Reddit piece not abused or spoiled or corrupted ; it did get mucked up when the canvas was extended, but that was more the chaos of increased size rather than outright vandalism.
