Silence and Rooftops
There on the rooftop, above most buildings
I found my serenity.
No weed smoke this time, I wasn't gliding.
The country was locked down
And so I sat on the edge, fearless.
Admiring the bright lights, the city's crown
Dark mountains embraced the listless town.
All alone, so high up, I felt the music
Could you hear it too?
The silence moved chords so fluid
Through my body, feeling almost lucid...
So I stood on the ledge,
Threw my hands in the air and twirled
Round and round I went,
Dancing for my silent world.
I dared not sing for it could've awoken them-
The city scum with their loud mouths.
So I let my feet drum away to the peace.
There on the rooftop, above most buildings,
I breathed my own air.
I found my serenity.
No weed smoke this time, I wasn't gliding.
The country was locked down
And so I sat on the edge, fearless.
Admiring the bright lights, the city's crown
Dark mountains embraced the listless town.
All alone, so high up, I felt the music
Could you hear it too?
The silence moved chords so fluid
Through my body, feeling almost lucid...
So I stood on the ledge,
Threw my hands in the air and twirled
Round and round I went,
Dancing for my silent world.
I dared not sing for it could've awoken them-
The city scum with their loud mouths.
So I let my feet drum away to the peace.
There on the rooftop, above most buildings,
I breathed my own air.
