Frozen in time
The sultry soft glow
Of the early rising sun
Casting long lazy shadows
Glistening off the lightly frozen water crystals
I sit here on the bank
Watching as the river curles
Around barely submerged
Dead trees
That found a new home
The far bank
Covered in brown heather
Hides a multitude
Of nature's creatures
The damp rises
Bringing the cold with it
It doesn't register
As I ponder over nothing
Staring without seeing
Just
Comtemplating
Lost in nothingness
Life slips by
And I fall into
Slumber
Life passes by
And I just don't care

To be contemplative, allowing thoughts to wash over; potentially becoming a bit lost or prone to resignation, is extremely relatable and it totally, 100% resonates....

It's strange I think, when I write these poems, I never realise how other people will see them.
Some of them I enjoy, some I think are OK, but I don't ever think of them as you do, I never see them in that light.

This reminds me of my long hikes in Germany and resting upon the mountainous hill side.

Well I tell ya, it wasn't a very long hike for me,, about 500 yards from my door step is all, I could throw a stone to it, almost,
It was great when I was a kid,, skinny dipping quite a lot there,
It's not a big river at all, nice easy flowing water.
