Regularity's Price
Golden grain nuggets,
really ground up rocks,
made,somehow, edible.
Containing more fiber
then a cardboard box.
Purpose? Debatable.
Breakfast cereal? Maybe.
But shouldn’t be fed to baby
Perchance, as popcorn ceiling mix
Or non-skid paving material
But if you find
yourself in a bind,
plumbing problems
It will, most certainly, fix
And if it’s grapes or nuts you wanted,
you surely will be disappointed

Author's Note
I attended a Christmas party that featured a white elephant, breakfast cereal gift exchange. I scored one of my favorite candy cereals, Captain Crunch. I gave Grape Nuts with this poem pasted on the back of the box. Luckily the man that received it read the poem perfectly...Enjoy!

I am so glad that you enjoy this piece and that it is pleasently nostalgic to you. I am more of a purest when it comes to the Cap'n. I love it unadultereated by peanutbutter or crunch berries. That said I don't go so far as to pick out the berries and give them to one of the kids 😃

Oooooo, I love peanut butter Cap'n crunch too. Regular captain crunch was my favorite cereal box to go through for toys when I was little... lol.. Yum! Grape-Nuts, you need like an Iron Jaw to eat them in cold milk... grrrrrrrr... hahaha 😂 ...

Grape-nuts make the best granola for Greek yogurt; combine and let sit for 15 minutes minimum to soften - I eat it every day! The fiber is strong with this one 💪💩😆
