Image for the poem idiosyncrasy

idiosyncrasy

chivalrous temptation,
excitable treachery don't leave me
I am in that mood again

defending my anxiety
there is need without reason
it swings inside me constantly
tortured existence I know no other
so it's for you I get on my knees

does that make me weak?

I guess it does
I can't cut it clean
escapism is my vow
I will check out every chance I get
upon your doorstep I sit awaiting my pardon

I wonder once released will I be different,
or is the problem with me?

presented with beauty
altering myself to inhale death
do I change shape according to my mood
a body shifting representing its idiosyncrasies
