Extraterrestrial
Extraneous sounds
XoingXoangDoongs weird
To earthly ears
Resembling nothing they knew
And worse, nothing ever heard from outer space.
Together they gathered
Employed all their energies
Realigned radars
Rerouted the satellites
Endlessly they searched
Scanned and screened
To no avail. The sounds
Remained
Incomprehensible
Always and for their entire lives they
Lasted.

Reminds me of the film Contact, where the signals earth was receiving were mathematical equations.
