Meanderings

It was too lonely for her there
She needed to go away
where soothing music forever play
and company's always there to stay

She married a country boy
who wanted to do her proud
he wanted a bundle of joy
Before he got too old

She wished he was ardent
in everything he did
from the vegetable garden
to the romp in bed

But no, he never romped
nor yet made her desire screamed
she never did provide
the bundle of joy he needed

So sat they in silent affront
Of each other's company
their childlessness a taunt
for all to look and see

It was lonely there for her
Looking out of the window
she wished she was free
to walk away and meander

" It was too lonely for her there"...(The Hill Wife by Robert Frost)
