A River Flows

a river flows, an endless stream
with thoughts it grows into a dream
in a meadow, a field of reeds
blooming yellow with countless seeds
-
every flower, stem with thorn
has the power to be reborn...
in a meadow, a field of reeds
feeling mellow among the weeds -

a river flows...water streams
moving on, reflecting beams
from beyond the world we know
bouncing off the water's glow

swirling, twirling splish and splash
molecules of water crash
into each other, into the air
into the ground and everywhere -

in a meadow, a field of reeds
feeling mellow in the weeds
reflected sunlight in my eyes
it seems I might be surprised

by swirling, twirling liquid lush
water meadow's endless rush
relaxed and calm I slip away
on a warm late summer's day -
