One of the things that I love best about DU is the non-stop inspiration, encouragement and the truly lovely support that I am lucky enough to receive. (I do my best to try to pass all of that along to others, as well.) It's the Ying and Yang of it, which is so special and valuable. I have grown exponentially as a writer because of that very experience. I think that we often forget to appreciate those really good things; that we derive from participating here..... and I love how this poem reminds me of that, Brenda.

good morning beautiful Blue I agree I think sometimes we are interconnected so often we are on similar wavelengths any given day or as often happens with me reading someone will spark a thought leading to inspiration... I was just telling Cipher yesterday on his poem shadows that I had been playing with the word velvet in my mind but it didn't come to fruition because I was think of velvet feelings and it didn't click then I saw his poem and it made me think of the one I wrote today...I'm happy to be among the poets like you here thank you lovely one for such a beautifully thoughtful comment💕

To me, Poetry has always been a sacred practice.  I remember when I was in HS, filling up notebooks, not caring about much else, other than my unwavering devotion to the writing.

There was this young man, I think he fancied himself to be a "cool kid?"...  I did not really speak to that many people.  I dont think I was shy, exactly...  I just didnt feel like talking all that much, to all that many.  I say that to say, why would anyone want to talk to me if I dont talk to them.

Well...  I was busy scribing away, in another dimension.

He comes and sits at a desk to my left, I could feel he attempting to look down on me.  (Which was utterly impossible.)

But I looked up, and I could tell he felt the burning fire in my eyes, and was hesitant to speak.  But I told him to speak.  And he clumsily attempted to ask me what I was doing, and I answered: "I am expressing the undeard of." or something to this effect, to which he did not know what to reply.

He then said something like: "everybody bullshits".

Implying that everybody scribbles and all youre doing is scribbling, like everyone else.

I vehemently disagreed, to be honest.

I thought about what he said, as I do with everything everyone says...

I thought to myself...  Contemplating the motivation of someone, who bullshits, by their own admission, to come to me with this bullshit, when I neither speak to this person nor acknowledge their existence.

I must tell you...  I felt like he was encroaching upon sacred grounds & I felt the urge to engage in conflict...  but I opted for grace, just smiling and nodding, and then returning to my work.

I suppose I went into that to say that I have always viewed the writing as being both: The New Works & The New Psalms.

I actually wrote a piece called "The New Psalms", at some point in the past.

...  This piece resonated with me deeply & I believe in soul circles of the Poets.

I agree with you dearest Cipher I think poetry is a sacred language that comes from the soul anyone who doesn't understand that clearly isn't a poet...I would love to read your poem the new psalms,,,we as poets are definitely interconnected... it's a beautiful art form divine in nature... thank you dear Cipher for understanding the nature of this poem... I deeply appreciate your thoughts❤
