dread

 
darkness gloom shine inside
greedy need with all its shame
sanction the guilt and bleed
in the unraveling is the unveiling
 
regrets form spinning doubt
anxiety builds and courage diminishes  
the truth of the hour peaks
 
fear is ruling within
in my solemn silence I dread
solace in my sanctuary denied
 
the bleak takes face and speaks
listless betrayer is my inner voice
blasphemies guild in lies
thieves, are my thoughts
soothsayers of the soul foresee my fall  
 
on display for all to see is my undoing
pain vultures gather
spectators of sorrow who watch on greedily
 
consuming my hurt  
inside myself..weep
in my solemn secret I vow
silence in the depth of soul

darkness wept for the morrow
that it would see me no more
who in my sadness crept deep into my hollows

I would not be coerced
my sorrow peaked and i withdrew
in depression's keep I sought reprieve
there would in my eternal eye be faith

in my sullen state redemption
I would rise to greet the day a victor
