stuck in her feelings

it’s late and there’s a knock on my door
it’s Gemma and we’ve stood here before
she wants me to love her like she loves me
there’s love but not how it should be
she stands leaning against the doorway, smashed
I’ll be her fool and wait ready to be bashed
I broke her heart again, this time for good
wish I could give her my heart, wish I could
her eyes water, she stares and pushes me hard
I just look at her and stand on guard
nothing is being said and tears roll from her eyes
after a few more stares she whisper “you told me lies”
I looked in her eyes with nothing to say
grabbed her hand, I couldn’t turn her away
hesitant but wanting, she gives me a hug
she takes a deep breath then begins to snug
I kiss her head and apologize
her heart misunderstood, I never told it lies
