It's called letting go
I'll light up matches
to burn sheer longings,
memories, melancholies,
sorrows, blues and black
so i could have a night
with Morpheus again.

Let us be carry from Morpheus, thus
where he most prefers
away from this madhouse
and that we wake up
only when all this ends.
What can I say I love your verses.

Well, I originally felt sadness when I happened upon this.
But there is much more to it I think now.
Un adulterated love ,a deep longing, the willingness to sacrifice anything and everything is quite beautiful.
I picture the narrator lighting candles with the matches in an almost daily routine.
Anyhoo , powerful stuff Ophie

I enjoyed this piece immensely. It brings me back to something I was recently thinking about. I was thinking about the way people seem to self-harm in an attempt to let go of their frustration but the imagery you used is much more effective and leaves me with this vivid image of someones "memories, melancholies" and "sorrows" being consumed by flame and tossed to the wind. I've never been one for such short poems, haiku or otherwise, but I'm starting to see how much can be conveyed in so few words.
Keep it up

Duncan, your comment has left me speechless. If I said thank you it wouldn't be enough would it? I can't find another word to convey half of my gratitude though so..
Thank you for your fierce interpretation and the chance you've given us - to those who write short poetry- show you how short poetry is just as good.

Dinna Fash, you got nothing that I didn't honestly believe was due to you.
Just take it in and keep making that magic.
