bird music
a rhymed, mirrored octet
bird
music
to my ear
paints the morning
with orchestral b l i s s.
clarinet a n d f l u t e songs
fill m y s o l i t u d e with glee;
robin, blue jay, mockingbird, thrush
blend new arias with the windrush
for m y d e e p e s t r e v e r i e,
mirth for which my heart longs.
what c o u l d go amiss?
ne'er such thrilling
sweet and clear
r u b r i c
heard.
