Untethered Balloon

No one understands you see
What it’s like to float through this world alone like me
Always on the outside looking in
No one caring where I’ve been
Like a hot air balloon with no tether
Must I float alone forever
Looking for a soft place to land
The loving touch of an outstretched hand
Or eyes looking so full of love
Watching as I float above
But you see my colours just aren’t right
I don’t give off the right kind of light
And so the eyes turn away
There’s really nothing left to say
I float on waiting for the flame to burn out
It eventually will I have no doubt
No one left behind to care
That I have finally run out of air
Lonely wandering in the sun
Unclaimed balloon who’s journey is done

Author's Note
I realize this poem can be interpreted as me very extremely depressed and suicidal. I assure you I am not but appreciate the concern some have shown. I just get all of my negativity out in my poetry, and then I let it go.
