Image for the poem Devoured

Devoured

I spun the most beautiful web,
silky threads,
catching dew drops,
sparkling like diamonds in the warm sunshine,
memorizing,
enticing,
drawing her in,
closer,
& closer,
catching her,
trapping her,
stuck in the stickiness,
left with no choice—
she waited to be devoured.
