Don't hide your scars
Take off your clothes,
don't hide your scars
I love them,
you cannot understand
Let's count the mental wounds
Time after time
and again and again
Your body is like a
book of stories,
All cuts are a separate story
I'm tired of arguing
with you because of them,
And there is no need
How much pain have you
suffered with me?
I do not need an answer
You are now like an open book,
And until dawn comes ...
We will not say a word to
each other ...
forgetting our names,
Running torment in a circle,
Drinking desire and pain
to the bottom
don't hide your scars
I love them,
you cannot understand
Let's count the mental wounds
Time after time
and again and again
Your body is like a
book of stories,
All cuts are a separate story
I'm tired of arguing
with you because of them,
And there is no need
How much pain have you
suffered with me?
I do not need an answer
You are now like an open book,
And until dawn comes ...
We will not say a word to
each other ...
forgetting our names,
Running torment in a circle,
Drinking desire and pain
to the bottom

Hey Rac! Thank you and always great to hear from you. That is so true, there is no hiding our scars from ourselves but they do help define us for better or worse so we must live with and make the best of them. Thank you so much for the comment and sharing your thoughts with me.

Congrats ... so glad you came ... so glad you stayed ... this speaks to me in so many ways ... we are poetic sisters my dear ... great flow with this ... "count the mental wounds" ... "Running torment in a circle/drinking desire and pain/to the bottom" ... poetic gold ... especially the double possible meaning of the last line ...

We are definitely poetic sisters. ;) Thank you so much for the congrats. I am so glad I was pointed toward the underground (after all underground is the place for me lol) and although I did consider leaving I am glad I stayed. I absolutely love it when you think something is poetic gold because you are such an amazing poetess. And I love how you see the multiple meanings, since most of my writing has them...

Scars are like medals seared into the skin. They show you lived, and some show you loved. Awesome write. Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary.

Re: Re. Don't hide your scars
Scars, mental or physical, certainly do help define us and they definitely show that we have lived and have taken chances. I like the medal analogy, proof of where we have been and what we have done, and what we have been through... I am really happy you liked the write and thank you so much for the comment and congratulations! :)
Don't hide your scars
This brings such a sobering maturity to your writing that I could not but add my congratulations to the afterglow. It is a serious admission that scars tell tales beyond their gasps or moans or wounds. On a single body, they represent the rings on a tree that chronicle the living of the elements of every passing year. They tell the age and reach and endurance, as DNA mapping, so individual, so inseparable, to the skin and heart of the victim and victor.

Hey cab! Everything you write is so poetic, I love how your mind works. You bring profound wisdom in your writing. I absolutely love the tree analogy, that is so beautifully accurate and we definitely grow from our scars. This could easily be spun into one of your breathtaking visual poems. (hint hint)
Re: Don't hide your scars
Hey, Kris
You know your thoughts often become my poetry. Let's see where this one will take me; you're the first with whom I would share it.
Thank you for receiving my observations so kindly and seeing so deeply into the sentiments that support their construction.

They do have a way of shining, even in the dark and in the sun... They can fade over time but they are always present. Some are deeper than others. but for better or worse they help define us. I am really happy you liked it and thank you so much for the comment! 🥓

Whereas i'm still a noob in the 44day of stay; I Consider your 1st Year anniversary and Congratulate you on the Poetess you've become. It is not the Conventional Poetry Wherein you do not consider much yourself of to be; But it is the important Poetry that Speaks from the Valor of Riddle from the Heart. It is truly beautiful Of how you write, because it sounds so true. In every word it speaks volume of how you feel and as such is a wonder to unfold and read their to be grasped in to follow it's center of the theme. I Wish you well on your 1st year anniversary and i'm glad to come about to have found you on here.

Happy 44th day and welcome! MK, Thank you so much for the congratulations and the absolutely wonderful comment. You leave me speechless. I am definitely unconventional and perhaps that is one reason I always hesitate to post something so I am so happy you appreciate this. But always from emotion and the heart. I am really happy you can feel the writing and the underlying themes. Thank you so much for the well wishes and again for your beautiful and kind words!

Hey FeN! Torment always runs amuck, so sometimes you need to run it in a circle. ;) Thank you so much and I am really happy you think it's a great write. Putting the pain aside is not always easy but I definitely try... lots of love to give. Bless and love back at you!...

Dear K,
Firstly, a belated happy dup anniversary! How the time flies.
Many happy returns and future years on site writing more wonderful poetry.
As for this write- there was so much personal relativity throughout this poem for me I really had to take a double and triple read through to fully realize that you weren’t actually speaking TO me. I know! It sounds crazy but the whole addressing of scars, I took poetic liberty, both mental and physical was staggeringly lovely in the idea of acceptance for who we are. Warts/scars and all. To have that profound amount of love and as importantly trust, to be us/me was breathtaking.
I was very grateful to have read this today. It had a rather aha effect for me. Lovely and thoughtful and embracingly beautiful write. H🌷

Thank you so much Honoria, how time flies indeed! I cannot believe it has been a year. This write is really for everyone, so I was speaking to you. :) The message is definitely one of acceptance. We all have scars. Some deeper than others. And new ones appear all the time but they do help define us. And you are beautiful!!!, scars and all. I am so happy you could see the love and trust in this and I love that had an aha effect for you, that you thought it was lovely and beautiful. I love that so much! Thank you again for yet another wonderful, thoughtful comment.

There is a certain sensuality to this entry underneath it all. It's beautiful and also embracing, the way we accept others for their past and the healing road.
Happy Anniversary to your joining DUP (I know I'm a little late but I've been trying to catch up with all my readings). You're a great addition to the talented pool of writers and poets here.

You are so right, there is sensuality and intimacy in accepting someone entirely, scars and all. Truly getting to know them for all the good things and the bad. Sharing ours as well to create a beautiful union, broken pieces and all.
Thank you so much Wally. That means so much to me! And I always love and appreciate your thoughts and feedback whenever you are able.
