Great Message!
I am incredibly fascinated by the fractal nature of our world. I think you captured that phenomenon very adeptly.

This is such a beautiful reminder, Ahavati. I particularly loved this stanza:
“Sacred geometry manifests
patterns of existence
into the living
until fossilized
underground”
This was such an inspiring read first thing today. Thank you for sharing it 💜

Re. We are Earth
Dear A,
Wild picture! I didn’t pay attention to the title until my second read through. Then saw the picture for what it was. Totally love it. Getting so bogged down in the minutiae of daily activities and then this virus it’s so easy to forget, hard though we try, to separate ourselves into clumps of genetic gene pools- we are all manifested from earth. Great write. Great reminder. X H🌷

We are all unique and a enigma that we try to solve by getting to know each other. Keep on writing.

Another fascinating poem. Lots to think about again: brain, mind, consciousness, time as a subjective or objective experience, etc, etc.
Great!

We are Earth
I once sang in the chorus line of "He Who Says Yes," a contemporary opera by Kurt Weill (1900–1950). One chorus was "My mother is the earth."
I think you have expertly captured the essence of this wonderful thought both in representational and literary terms.
Did not the Father mold Adam from the earth? And when the body dies, does it not return to dust? One thing is certain: in the same way that life and creation did not begin in themselves, so do they not end when flesh becomes dust again, as if no Superior Power had moved them into being.
Sincerely
cab

I kinda miss the subway, but not the city so much. It's been over a decade and I wonder if it's changed any at all. I had no idea you were in the lumber industry!

This has me wondering if a fingerprint is part of a larger pattern appearing on the human body or if the pattern on the fingertip is repeated elsewhere on a body ( like a wallpaper pattern ). And then of course, same for a tree.

That is a very interesting pondering. . .Sacred geometry can be right under our noses and we might not even notice it.

True words. From dust we came, to dust we go. In saying that, it dawns on me that the body came from and goes to dust. Our spirit is something altogether different. It flies on, and that is hope. To me anyway. Lovely piece, A.

What a cool comparison this is with tree rings, I never thought of that before that it is like a fingerprint, You have such a way with visual presentation of a concept, I like this alot :)

Indeed, RiAN! We have so much in common with Nature; we ARE Nature, though many believe we are separate from it. Thank you for a wonderful observation. Much appreciated. xo

I love your image. It brings a sadness as you compare the two and one is destroying the other.

That is such an astute observation, Lj. Seeing that image really puts into perspective how we are destroying ourselves; and, yes, it is very sad.
Thank you for noting that. xo

Those last three lines are magical. “Earth experiencing form.” I love that. It makes me think of how the human condition has been described as the universe experiencing consciousness. The whole poem is great. Some of your work feels more akin to prayer than poetry, a meditation on the connectivity of nature.
